10 Things I’m Thankful For

Happy Turkey Day!!

Well, it’s almost Thanksgiving, and I don’t know about you guys but I love Thanksgiving. Yeah, the food is good, and I do love getting my fall style, but more importantly, I love the idea that Americans are sitting around dinner tables across the country giving thanks. Gratitude is one of the most beautiful things you can give yourself. Research shows that being thankful can improve your well-being, mood and sleep and relationships. So in the spirit of being thankful, here is my list of 10 things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving.

  1. All of YOU
    You, the readers of my blog, are the reason I do any of this. I created the 5 Day Detox to help you all find health, and I post nutrition and health content multiple times a week to help you all stay on track with your health. We absolutely HAVE to do this together, so if I can change a few of your lives by giving you the tools to be healthy, then I know I’m doing something right in my life. So thank you for being so amazing, and thank you for supporting my release of the 5 Day Detox App. I couldn’t have done any of this without you guys.

  2. Traveling
    Being able to travel to Bali and Costa Rica, staying at places like The Layar in Seminyak and Four Seasons Costa Rica, has done more for me than you all probably know. If you follow me on Snapchat (NikkiRSharp), you know that I was having a really hard time at the end of the summer. I was very sad and things were mind-bogglingly overwhelming. Traveling always flips my perspective and helps me see things more clearly.

  3. The 5 Day Detox App!!
    THANK YOU to the amazing creators at Touch Zen Media who helped me turn my 5 Day Detox into the greatest app ever! It is so beautiful, I can’t stop looking at it and freaking out that I finally accomplished this dream. Launch day was such an incredible feeling, I can’t even tell you guys.

  4. Myka, the SeaCat.
    Again, if you follow me on Snapchat, you know that this cat cannot get enough of me. And let me tell you, it has been killing me to be away from him for so long. It’s strange how strong of an emotional connection we can build with our pets, but it’s hard not to when I have a cat with such a rambunctious personality. Plus he eats so healthy! It still amazes me.
  5. Family
    I was lucky to be able to go to Colorado recently and hang out with my mom in the beautiful state that is my home. Family will always be the people who stand by you, no matter what. If you haven’t given love to your family recently, do so immediately.

  6. Health
    2015 has been a big year, so health is coming 6th on the list, but realistically it is always at the top with family and Myka. Not only am I so thankful to have my health so I can inspire all of you to be healthy, but I’m grateful just to be able to do any of this. There are way too many people in this country alone, let alone the world, who are not healthy enough to hold a job or pursue health in the way many of us do. It is so important to be grateful everyday to be able to live a healthy life.

  7. Yoga
    I can’t talk enough about yoga, and honestly it sucks how little I get to do it. Thankfully I just got to do a beautiful yoga retreat in Costa Rica, which I will be writing more about on NikkiSharp.com soon. So many times this year I’ve wished I could teach more, and I’ve wished I could spend more time on my practice. But what’s the point of wishing? Instead, I am grateful that I am able to do yoga. I am thankful for all the brilliant teachers I’ve had. And I’m thankful for the chance to become a teacher myself.
  8. Disconnecting in Costa Rica
    Things have been so crazy with the App release and everything else going on, I honestly didn’t think I would be able to disconnect. I was freaking out because it felt like the world would fall apart if I wasn’t there to answer. Thankfully, I had no option because I was not about to spend money on International data, so I put on my vacation message and disconnected for a week. It was the best thing I’ve done. I was able to take time to focus on myself, happiness, resting and connecting with others at the yoga retreat.
  9. Being Grateful
    Not everyone sees life in this way and I’m blessed that I can write in my gratitude journal everyday and find all the beautiful moments in days that I might have not found beautiful. Sometimes we get so caught up in the stress of life, we forget to see how amazing it truly is. Improve your health by taking 5 minutes out of every day to be grateful.
  10. Following My Passion.
    There are so many days that it’s scary, that I don’t know if people will care about my new products or if I will make enough money. In the end though, I am passionate about health, happiness and helping others. I feel blessed to be doing this and grateful that I took a chance in sharing my passion with the world. Each one of you can do the same – no matter how scary it may be. If you do what you love, it will always work out.

I hope you guys liked my list! What is on your list? Even if it’s just one or two things to start, take a moment every day this week to think about what you are thankful for. This is the season of giving, so give yourself some love by reminding yourself how much beauty there is in the world and in the people around you.
