I’ve been struggling with a hellish cold since the festive period ended. I think the non-stop socialising and relentless indulgence has finally taken its toll. It wasn’t until I popped into my grandma’s house with that look of self-pity when she handed me a fresh ginger tea. Ahh…this was certainly what the doctor ordered!

 

Ginger is the rhizome of the plant Zingiber officinale, consumed as a delicacy, medicine or spice, and also a tea. Full of marvellous qualities that help cure a number of common diseases. Chop off a 1inch chunk and add it to your cup and pour in some hot water for an instant cold fighting remedy. Ginger is full of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C and magnesium but to fight off your cold you will need to take it 2-3 times a day.
