Cauliflower Pizza- Detox Recipe
Tonight my parents asked me to cook dinner for them as I’m currently doing my 5 Day Detox plan. I know that they don’t really eat the way that I do so I wanted to change it up and offered to make the roasted red pepper, however my mom thought if I could do my cauliflower pizza that it would be great. So I adapted THIS recipe to make it suitable for the detox. (I added a tiny bit of cheese on their side of the pizza, however when on the detox this isn’t allowed.)
It’s gluten free, dairy free, salt free, all homemade, super delicious and has very nourishing ingredients for you.
1/2 head cauliflower
2 tbsp almond meal (ground almonds)
1 tsp oregano
- Using your food processor or blender, adding your chopped cauliflower to create ‘rice’ (it should be quite fine). Add to a bowl and microwave 5 minutes, or place on the stove in a pan to cook until soft. Add to a clean kitchen towel and allow to cool, then squeeze out all excess liquid. The more liquid you get out the better it will stay together when cook.
- Add the rest of your ingredients into a bowl with the cauliflower and mix with your hands until well combined. On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, spread your mixture until 2cm thick (roughly). Bake for 20 minutes or until it’s lightly browned, at 350F.
1 large tomato
1 small squeeze tomato paste (optional)
1 head garlic
1 handful basil
1 drizzle olive oil
cracked pepper + cayenne (optional)
- Blend all ingredients until smooth. Add to your pan on the stove and cook until heated through. After your pizza crust has been in the oven and is cooked, take out and add the sauce. (Follow instructions below.)
- Chop your hearts, zucchini, mushrooms and red pepper. Add to a pan with a dash of water and cook for 2 minutes until slightly tender. This will help the cooking process on the pizza. Add all ingredients + spinach on top of your pizza sauce then place back in the oven another 5 minutes. Allow to cool before eating.
Hope you all like the pizza!
