Chocolate Chia Energizer Smoothie (Free Post-Detox Recipe!)
Today on the blog I wanted to share with you one of my all time FAVORITE smoothie recipes from my Post-Detox Recipe E-book. I released this E-book a while ago, but with the 5 Day Detox App freshly out in the App Store, I wanted to give you guys another great recipe to help you with your clean, post-detox lifestyle.
This really is one of my favorite recipes because as you all know, I am obsessed with chocolate. Probably a little too obsessed, if there’s even such a thing as too obsessed with chocolate. This is a great smoothie to make the night before and take with you for breakfast, or to eat an hour before a hard workout. It will give you loads of energy and satisfy any sweet tooth you might have 🙂
One of the ingredients in this smoothie is Maca Powder, which I use in nearly every smoothie because of it’s amazing health benefits. Maca powder helps to balance hormones, give your muscles strength and fuel for a hard workout, and provide your whole body with energy. I personally only buy Organic Burst because they don’t add chemicals or anything sketchy, it simply Maca.

- 3 TBSP chia seeds
- 1 banana
- 1 TBSP raw cacao powder
- 1 TBSP honey
- 1 TBSP coconut flakes
- 1 TBSP maca powder (optional)
- ¼ cup coconut milk
- In the bottom of a glass, mix chia seeds with ¼ cup water. Allow to sit for 20 minutes so the chia seeds soak up the water
- Meanwhile, make the smoothie, blending ½ of the banana with cacao powder, honey, coconut milk, maca powder (if using) and ice
- Mash the remaining ½ banana separately with coconut flakes and layer on top of chia seeds (optional). Pour smoothie over banana and coconut flakes.
