Cookie Dough Bliss Balls

I recently had the opportunity to try a new product from Bob’s Red Mill, a company that I’ve supported for many years. I personally love all of their products and it’s my go-to brand for coconut flour, almond meal, and gluten free oats. So I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I was approached to try out their brand new protein powders.

I’m going to start this off by saying I was paid to post a picture on Instagram in order to get the product out there, however this is my choice to give a review and post it on my website. So my opinion here is completely unbiased and I have not received anything to talk about the product here. I think it’s important to give full disclosure about these sorts of things so that you know when I’m truly endorsing a product because I love it versus am being paid to do so. {Small side note, I will never sell out and share a product with you if I don’t personally try it and believe in it!}

Now that we got that out of the way, I’m actually really excited to talk about these protein powders with you. I was sent all the flavors (they have four), and so far have tried the chai and chocolate nutritional boosters and really liked them. They don’t have that weird stevia taste like some other brands do (they’re sweetened with monk fruit) and they do actually taste very nice. Instead of going the usual smoothie route that is typical for protein powders, I wanted to make bliss balls because these are such a fun and easy snack to create and using a powder like this can increase the benefits tremendously (depending on the ingredients in the powder of course). So low and behold:

cookie dough bliss balls!

These really do taste like cookie dough, just a slightly chai-esque version of them and are insanely good. In fact, the more I tried these, the more I realized they are exactly like gingerbread cookie dough. Like, um…YES PLEASE! You will thank me later, promise. {Confession: I LOVE cookie dough.}

Let’s get into the ingredients a little bit so you know why I think these are such a winner.

Walnuts: these nuts are great for weight control, contain  high levels of omega 3 fatty acids, decrease cholesterol, reduce inflammation in the body, and are high in antioxidants.

Dates: high in fiber which promote a healthy digestive system, contain calcium and magnesium which are essential for a properly functioning body, and are a great way to sweeten dishes naturally.

Chia Seeds: help repair damage to the skin, reverse inflammation in the body, contain high levels of calcium, and is a great source of protein for vegans.

Goji Berries: contains natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal compounds, are a superfood because their high levels of antioxidants, and are loaded with vitamin C.

Bob’s Red Mill Nutritional Booster: their products have chicory root fiber, chia seeds, probiotics, and are gluten free, vegan, a good source of omega-3, and contain high amounts of fiber and protein. (Oh and they taste great!)

With all of these amazing benefits, what’s not to love about this simple recipe for cookie dough bliss balls? What I love about making bliss balls is that the base ingredients are typically the same, it’s normally some nut or seed and dates, then you can add whatever you like to them. I personally added walnuts and dates because it really does taste like cookie dough- then adding the nutritional booster and goji berries gives this an incredible taste and even more benefits.

I managed to make these and after eating about 10 of them, I put the rest in a bag and gave them to my neighbor. By now, you all know that delicious food does not stay in my house for longer than a few minutes and I wanted to share the love with these. I share this because these are the perfect little snack to put 2-3 in a bag and carry with you when hunger strikes. This is a way better option then being so hungry on the go and making an unhealthy decision because you have nothing available.
