Melon Ball Fruit Salad

LUNCH

Melon ball fruit salads. Are there anything better? Seriously! I didn’t discover this until recently and how incredibly easy it is to do. All you need is a melon baller which you can purchase at Target, Amazon, or any homeware shop. They are cheap and make food super fun to play with 🙂 I personally bought mine while I was traveling this summer and on the boat, so by no means is it something that’s hard to carry with you.

Step 1: Choose your fruit. It works best if you are using watermelon, cantaloupe or other soft fruits that don’t have big seeds. I used a pineapple which was a bit trickier but made for a very pretty layout. Cut your fruit in half and use the baller as you would an ice cream scoop (that’s essentially what it is…just a smaller version).

Step 2: Continue until you’ve finished getting all the little pieces you can. If you are going to use the fruit as a cup, then use a knife and/or spoon to get remaining bits out so your ‘bowl’ is clean.

Step 3: Garnish with other fruits or colorful things such as cherries, blueberries, or chopped mint. Mix and add to your bowl.IMG_7445

And voila! You have an easy, beautiful fruit salad that is far more fun to eat than a normal piece of fruit 🙂
