Sun, Sand and Sea

07 Oct 2015

Sometimes all you need is a little sun, sand, and sea. Really, it seems to cure all things in life. Okay, well maybe not allllll things, but it definitely helps to bring in a new perspective into your life. One thing I’ve realized lately is that when life gets tough and you feel that nothing is going right, it’s time to take a step back, get outside into nature, and just BE.

The past two months have been really busy. I mean like really, crazy busy. It’s been an amazing thing, but also a lot of drama that has kept me from writing. I miss my blog, I miss you guys, and I miss posting photos. It seems like life has gotten in the way of life. Funny how that goes! Anyways, I’m excited to be back. Back to blogging, back to where I feel creative, and back to taking time for me.

I recently went out to Malibu with my awesome photographer friend Kaelan and we decided to have a play with some awesome swimsuits that I was sent by Pily Q. It’s been a quick minute since I’ve gotten myself to the beach, which is ironic because I live one mile from it… I mean really Nikki, really?! Anyways, this was a great excuse to get myself to the water, take some pretty photos and play around on the beach.

We headed to Matador Beach, which has these super cool stairs leading down to a semi-private beach. Private in that it’s not super busy and a little bit hidden, but definitely not private in that it’s a point of attraction for those who make the trek out there. As the tide rises, the beach completely disappears so you have to keep moving your stuff up on the rocks so it doesn’t get swallowed. It was a fun shoot for sure!

It allowed me to get some fresh air, stop worrying about all the day-to-day things going on and just have fun. I mean, at the end of the day, having fun is the most important thing we can do. I most definitely recommend getting outdoors if you are feeling down, need to clear your mind, or just need some ‘me’ time.

Oh and definitely check out PilyQ… I just got some new suits from their latest collection and I’m in love. I tried to take a bunch of shots of this suit because it’s just so darn pretty! The detailing is pretty spectacular and the colors are so bright. Honestly, it’s a really flattering suit- and that’s coming from a girl who doesn’t always love one pieces.

What are your thoughts on this swimsuit? Do you like it? Not like it? Comment below!

With Love, N
