The Best of the Best in NYC

IMG_0405If you read NYC part I, then you know all the places I recommend to get your grub on and experience some delicious food. As I mentioned before, I tried and tested many-a-restaurant so that I could share with you the best of the best! (If you haven’t read it, check it out here.)

The wonderful thing about New York is that there are so many different things to do, places to see, and experiences to be had.

Outside of my food blogging experience and trying an extensive amount of restaurants, I was able to head around town and get in some good shopping, take some fun yoga photos around the city, try out awesome bars, and pretty much experience New York to its fullest.IMG_0147

Here’s where I recommend for all things fun-in-New-York:

Marie’s Crisis: after you are done with dinner in Soho, head to this gem of a place. Imagine a Broadway show except in the living room of your own home and having every singer from every show there in front of you. Be prepared to get your singing on and belt out some of the best Broadway tunes with your favorite stars that perform in them. Live piano, live music, and an incredible energy that will make you not want to leave.

Brandy Library: even if you’re not a fan of brandy or whiskey, this place is an absolute must when it comes to atmosphere. If you’re trying to impress a guy on a first day then take him here! It’s cozy, intimate and really makes you feel like you’re part of the ‘cool crowd’ when here. Don’t forget to talk a walk to the toilets to be pleasantly surprised that this place can get even better.

The Carlyle: put on some nice cocktail attire and head to this dark yet sultry bar in the upper east side. A live piano player creates an intimate feel, while the cocktails are sure to give you a good buzz. If you’re lucky, you might even spot your favorite celebrity at the table next to you.

Standard Rooftop: I’ve been to the Boom Boom room many-a-times, creatively renamed Standard Rooftop, and it’s one of my favorite places in the city. During winter head indoors, during summer, head to the rooftop, through the bar for a more exclusive (and better view) time. With a cocktail in hand enjoy the sun setting and the feeling you get, beware though do not forget your camera. Oh, and dress nice. This is one of the best places during those warm evenings in New York.P8040363{the standard hotel}

Walk the Highline: during summer, or even winter, the highline is one of those places that allow you to get in some exercise while enjoying a sunny day in NYC. Grab a coffee and stroll along in the morning or head there during sunset for some spectacular views.

Central Park: year round this place can’t be missed. Put on your running shoes and stroll through the streets around the park, rent a bicycle and cruise the whole thing, pack a picnic and camp out on the beautiful grass, or go and practice your best yoga selfies in front of the backdrop of buildings.IMG_4722{central park}

Now for the best shopping stops? I got you covered for that as well! Instead of talking about the ususal places like Saks or Bergdorf’s, check out

Stop by Fishs Eddy: this is a random shop that I found and boy, I’m so glad I did! It is filled with insanely awesome kitchen stuff and for a great price. Plus they ship, so be sure to stock up on some awesome and inexpensive stuff (that you probably don’t need but will be glad you have).

Big Drop NYC: a quirky and cute shop in Soho, this spot has a variety of mid-range to slightly expensive outfits, all of which you will want to buy. I personally walked out with a stunning dress and pants and had to fight myself to not purchase a few other items. Beautiful colors, nice materials, and very fashion forward clothing.

Bandier: if you are in the market for some fitness/workout clothing then this shop cannot be missed. I randomly found it while walking around midtown and I am so happy that I did. They carry a variety of different brands, all of which you will want to try on. This is the sort of place that you will want to go with a higher budget, as I promise you’re going to end up wanting everything. I actually posted  a bunch of snapchats from this store because I loved the clothes so much. (Check me out on snap -> @nikkirsharp)IMG_0377

Barney’s: normally I wouldn’t mention any of the big shopping places in NYC because you’ve most likely heard of them already. However, I have to give a small mention to Barney’s because I was able to find the Chanel espadrilles that I have been searching nearly every shop for over a year. This is one of those great places that you will love to window shop, yet feel in reality probably can only afford a lipstick from downstairs. Way fun to look around though!

So with that, I hope you all like my two reviews of New York and what to do, where to eat, and where to go.    P8080038 Oh, and of course, hail a cab with a photographer by your side and I’ll guarantee they will stop for you. Well, only so because you actually called an uber 🙂

I would love to know your thoughts on the big city. Where are YOUR favorite spots to go?

PS- Check out my latest youtube video, all about what I eat and how to stay healthy when traveling!

With Love, Nikki
