What Music I Listen To

23 Aug 2013

I’m fortunate enough to work for myself, being the director of Stay Sharp & Be Strong, so I get to somewhat make my own rules. And one of the things I love more than anything is being able to put on my headphones and zone out to the world while I work. I do this because it is when my creativity flourishes and I get so much done.

So naturally, I was asked what I listen to after posting the photo below (and above) on my personal instagram account.

In terms of workout music, I have included a very detailed playlist in my 5 day workout plan, which you can find out about it by clicking here, other wise see below for other choices.

When I work, I listen to more chilled out music. Some of my favorites are:

  • Stairway to Heaven, Led Zepplin
  • Hotel California, The Eagles
  • Big Jet Plane, Angus & Julia Stone
  • Skinny Love, Bon Iver
  • Superwoman, Alicia Keys
  • Mercy, Duffy
  • Dreamworld, Robin Thicke
  • Halo, Beyonce
  • Beast of Burden, Rolling Stones
  • I have a Dream, Common

Now if I’m feeling a bit more perky and want some upbeat music, I will jam out to anything from Miley Cyrus (yes, I know. Judge me) to Kanye West, to music from the Ibiza club scene. A few of my favorites are:

  • Electricity, Lee Foss & MK
  • Caje, Nicone & Sascha Braemer
  • I love it, Icona Pop
  • Not Giving In, Rudimental
  • Diamonds, Rihanna

Again, if you’d like to see a detailed list of what I workout please purchase my workout plan 🙂

When I’m at home cooking, there’s nothing better than putting on some jazz or music from Hotel Costes in the background along with some of my other favorites:

  • Norah Jones
  • Gotan Project
  • Moulin Rouge soundtrack
  • So Frenchy So Chic CD
  • Dickson & Martinez
  • Yann Tiersen

I hope this inspires you to buy some new music (yes, please buy from iTunes! Artists make a living from the music they create, just as I do so with the ebooks I sell to you all… so when you illegally download or illegally send my detox to your friends, it’s taking away from all the hard work they/myself have put into something we share) and gives you more inspiration for various activities and how to make them more enjoyable.
