Why I Love Yoga
Yoga is one of those things that you can do anywhere, anytime, with anyone, and no equipment necessary. Plus you look pretty cool busting out some yoga moves on a beach full of people that always look at you intrigued.
Recently, my friend Skip (Skip’s Naked Health) told me about his flight getting delayed by an hour and the people he was with all got flustered and really annoyed. Instead of following suit, he decided to do a bit of yoga in the terminal and asked if anyone wanted to join. A few did, then a few more and within 5 minutes they had a group of 15 doing some beautiful stretches and keeping their mind occupied on meditation rather than getting upset over something they couldn’t control. He told me that so many people walked by wondering if they were filming a movie and I can only imagine what my reaction would be to seeing a group of people doing yoga prior to a flight. Seriously though, I think this is a brilliant idea and I love taking a situation that you can’t control and completely changing the emotions attached to it.
So if you ever see my in the middle of the street doing yoga (which I’m known for doing!), come and join.
Here are a few amazing reasons why you should be doing yoga:

- Helps with weight loss
- Increases energy levels
- Promotes circulation
- Relieves back pain
- Improves sleep
- Increases flexibility
I suggest starting yoga either by watching some youtube videos or going to a class. I personally love doing yoga two times a week with an instructor (in a class). You will benefit from yoga by doing 20 minutes one time a week, but remember the more you do, the quicker you’ll improve and more benefits you’ll see.
And definitely remember, that no one was born doing yoga! We all started in the same place, not knowing anything about it and not being able to do it, so don’t feel bad for going to your first class!
